Hello, guys, great to ask questions here. I have developed software, but I don't have too much knowledge about online software marketing. I know SEO, PPC are both good ways to begin with. But I think it’s too hard for me to learn to. Could you guys tell me other easier ways to sell software? Great thanks.

The first step to promote your software is submitting your software to as many as software download sites or archives.

But if you manually collect the online download sites resources and then manually submit your software there, it will waste you huge amount of time. So I recommend you use a software submission tool, it will save you time and energy to do lots of other important works.

I have been using Pad Submit Worker (www.submitworker.com) and it works pretty good for me. Cost me about $50, I will get around 500 successful submissions each time.

Hi,

There are many ways to market your software. What will work best really depends on the type of software and the target customer you are trying to reach.

Assuming you sell relatively low-priced software targeted at individual users (ie, not enterprise software) then you need to focus on pulling in targeted search engine traffic, both organic (SEO) and paid (PPC) results. There are many ways of doing this, but you have to have lots of interesting articles on your site that will pull in potential customers that you can then direct toward your software sales page.

This article on some top strategies for marketing software online can hopefully give you a few ideas: http://www.software-marketing-advisor.com/web-software-marketing.html

It's easy to spend many wasted hours on online marketing: social media, posting, linking, etc. The key is to spend your time wisely on those activities that are going to bring in leads. That's why you should have a software marketing plan - doesn't have to be long, but it allows you to develop a targeted strategy to reach your best prospective customers. Here's a link to a downloadable software marketing plan template: http://www.software-marketing-advisor.com/software-marketing-plan-3.html

I hope this is helpful.
