Hi kelaw,
E-conomic is a cloud-based accounting system with a free API which allows you to fuse your app with E-conomic. You will find a lot of information for developers and app partners as well as contact details on our website: http://www.e-conomic.co.uk/apps/app-partner
Hope this is what you are looking for. Let me know if I can help you out in any way.

Does anyone know of a premade accounting package with developer's license, that can be 'fused' with an existing app. I bought something like this built in MS Access years ago and connected it with my Access app- there was a developer's license. I'm now upgrading my app to a web based platform- most likely sql and html/java- and would like to find something similar: premade basic accounting that can be added to an existing app.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for the link, Inger. I'll check it out. This looks like it is just a UK system? Is it available for USA and Canada markets, with their particular accounting methods?
Hi kelaw,
You are right, E-conomic is currently only adapted to accounting methods in a bunch of European countries - you will find an overview at http://www.e-conomic.net/ - but there are users of the application in several other countries outside of Europe, including the US. I directed you to the UK version, because the .com redirects to the UK version when you either take a trial or sign up anyway. So some non-UK users run on this version, even though it's localized to UK VAT, etc.
We have an API forum in English where you can get in touch with other developers: http://apiforum.e-conomic.com/
Hope this helps. Otherwise let me know.
Oh, just thought I'd share this video with you on creating a default setup, setting up your country-specific VAT codes, etc: http://wiki.e-conomic.co.uk/settings/universal-default-setup This is particularly useful if you are using the application in a "non-E-conomic country".
