Is there a comprehensive list of shareware sites that accept software submissions either by form or PAD format?

If I do use a 'third party' service or a software application, can anyone recommend a good service/app for software submission?

Thanks in advance...

Steve

Hi Steve,

The biggest site is download.com (part of CNET). We identified a number of smaller sites for a client about a year ago and submitted their software, but virtually all of the volume came from download.com.

Check out the ASP:
http://www.asp-shareware.org/

On their homepage, there is a link on the left-hand column for "Shareware Sites" that I think you'll find quite handy ;)

As far as promotion, hands down:
Service: Rudenko Submission Service - http://rudenko.com/submit/
Application: RoboSoft - http://robosoft.rudenko.com/

Hope this helps...

ExtraLean, is your recommendation based on your own experience, or do you have a vested interest in Rudenko? Just interested, in the spirit of full disclosure.

Btw, in discussion forums like these, it is generally not necessary to quote from the previous posts -- unless the particular item you're responding to is way back in the thread.

Thanks for the feedback very much..

Ive reviewed the options at Download.com and see they have several options/plans in place to help boost downloads.

Does anyone have any experience/tips for working with download.com? I know that experiences will vary widely on the type of product etc.. so if anyone has experience in selling ecommerce/business application products...

Thanks in advance..

Steve

I do not have a vested interest in Rudenko. In fact, I've never used them myself but I know *many* that have and they all speak very highly of the service. These are people that I value their opinions and experiences as if they were my own, so I thought I'd pass along their advice. Nothing more.

By the way, I only quoted his reply because he had a two part question and thought it neater to separate my answers. Guess you can't please everyone... other places scream about *not* quoting ;)

Steve, there's an earlier thread here about Download.com that includes a number of tips.
